Welcome to the third edition of the Bring Back Wendell Vaughn as Quasar Newsletter! Once, again, thanks for signing up.  Good news!  This is not the last edition of the bring back Wendell Vaughn as Quasar Newsletter!  Bad News!  This is not the last edition of the bring back Wendell Vaughn as Quasar Newsletter!

REACTION TO "RETURN OF WENDELL"

If you read last issue, hopefully your hopes of Wendell being the savior weren't too high.  Sorry for the hype!  As you now know it's Adam Warlock.  It must be assumed that the Conquest cover is Adam as well.  Barely a page was given to the "Wendell Event."    Disappointed?  Yes.  Angry? Yes.  Frustrated?  Definitely.

Everyone is urged to remain optimistic.  One way of looking at is at least Wendell is back.  Half way there.  Understandably, emotions are high as most were hoping Wendell would return in a blaze of quantum glory.  It would have been nice.  

Now onto the Wendell appearance.  Telling Phyla that she will make a great Quasar has p*ssed off a lot of fans.  What does that mean?  Well, for the foreseeable future Phyla will be Quasar.  Mr. Gage has said this is Wendell speaking.  Not sure about that one.  Seems like old Marvel Ed' threw in a one page addition to appease its Wendell fans and make everyone happy.  Not so.  If anything the fans are even more rambunctious!

For some this "return" seemed to be the end all for the Marvel Universe or comics in general.  Hopefully, that is not the case.  There are some really good books out there. Just because one  company and/or editorial staff crushes your dream of reading about Wendell doesn't mean you have to give up on the wide world of comics.  To each his own though.

October 31, 2007. Quasar/Phyla Issue #4. 

First, thanks to Marvel, Mr. Bill Rosemann and Mr. Christos Gage for bringing back Wendell Vaughn to the Marvel Universe (hopefully!!).  

This issue would have been great if Phyla had only worn the nega bands.  It's a sad fact when you realize Phyla never needed the quantum bands and the Quasar legacy.  That said, onto the issue.  The art, as usual, terrific. This issue was the best out of the four.  The "imagination" battle with the Adaptoid was very good (more on that later).    The revelation that Adam is the "savior" (is he??).  And of course an appearance by Wendell Vaughn and Annihilus makes this a must read although not a must buy!  

The "Wendell Event" actually took place inside the Quantum Bands.  Reading the book it may not be as clear for some.  One instance, Phyla is on the ground, then in space? then back.  When questioned on this Mr. Gage responded, "She was inside the bands -- her consciousness, anyway."  This has actually led some to believe that it was not Wendell.  That is was some kind of hallucination.  Once again, we as readers, have to take the wait and see approach.     

PHYLA WORTHY?

 As many of you know the current weilder of the Quantum Bands must be worthy or risk going "poof."  Is Phyla worthy to be a bearer of the Quantum Bands?  

The question was answered in Phyla #4 during the battle with the Super Adaptoid.  Phyla used the one thing that the Adaptoid couldnt- imagination.  She constructed a large number of quantum objects.  The Adaptoid could not keep up and was -Annihilated.   

Phyla's quantum constructs were Monsters.  Monsters!?  Is this a reflection of her inner self?  Does this show her worthy to have the bands?  The two page spread says it all  -  add to it, Phyla's weopon, a sword.  Makes you miss the days of the quantum nunchucks and armor!
 
The "dungeons and dragons" reference was appreciated, "Let's Duel!".  

One could argue that it was caused by Annihilus and Wendell "set her free" when he expelled Annihilus from the bands.  Hogwash!

WHAT YOU CAN DO!

Not happy with the current Marvel Universe?  Fed up with Marvel ignoring its fans?  You want Wendell Vaughn back as Quasar?

DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!

There are a few things you, personally, can do to help bring back Wendell Vaughn as Quasar.  
      
        •SEND A LETTER! - That's right.  Write a real letter.  (When's the last time you had to do that?).  Voice your opinion!  Sending a real snail mail letter is a lot better than sending a quick and lazy e-mail.  It shows just how ---- you are!

        •SIGN THE PETITION! - Once again!  You must snail mail it!  Online petitions are useless as anyone with ten e-mail addresses can sign it.  Having real hard signatures will show Marvel that we mean business.  We want Wendell back as Quasar.  Do it.  Right now.  Quit putting it off!

        •JOIN THE QUANTUM FORUM! - Need a place to rant?  Have an idea that might help?  Heck, have any idea?  Come join the Quantum Forums and help out!  Anything you have to say is welcome!  Once again, our main man Wallred has set up a place for all Quasar fans to come together to talk the talk and walk the walk!  

        •SPREAD THE WORD! - Have any friends that like old Q-ball?  Get them involved!  Have them sign a petition, send a letter!  Sign them up for the Bring Back Wendell Vaughn as Quasar Newsletter! or at the Quantum Forums!
